Synchronize your data with Google Ads to link leads and conversions back to campaigns.

The Google Ads integration uses the Import from Clicks functionality in Google Ads, allowing it to upload both newly converted leads and previously converted leads that occurred before the connection was established.

1. Octanist

1. Go to octanist.com and navigate to General > Manage Conversion Names.
2. Under Manage Conversion Names, add clear and concise conversion names. For example: Converted Lead - Octanist

Ensure you choose clear and concise conversion names. These must exactly match the conversion names in Google Ads.

1. Go to octanist.com and navigate to Integrations > Outgoing.
2. Select Google Ads.
3. Give the integration a clear and concise name, such as: Company Name - Octanist - Google Ads Integration.

This name is for internal use and helps you easily identify the integration, especially if you plan to set up multiple integrations for different Google Ads accounts.

Advanced:

Under the advanced section of this integration, you will find two optional options:

Manual Consent: Enable this option if you want to manually override the consent settings of leads, setting it to “Granted”. We recommend leaving this disabled. It should only be enabled when you’ve encountered issues with consent settings. Please refer to our Consent Mode documentation to learn more.

Enhanced Conversions for Leads: Enabling this option sends hashed first-party data to Google Ads using SHA-256 hashing. When enabling this option, make sure to also enable it in Google Ads by navigating to:
Goals > Settings > Enhanced Conversions for Leads > Managed through Google Tag Manager.

4. Octanist will generate a unique link. Save this link carefully, as you will only receive it once.
   The link will look like this:
   https://api.octanist.com/integrations/outgoing/googleads/{{Octanist ID}}/?apikey=oct_{{Unique Key}}

2. Google Ads

1. Go to Google Ads.

2. Navigate to your account and go to Goals > Summary.

3. Create a new conversion action, select Conversions - Offline, and press Continue.
   We will add a data source later. (click “Add data sourse” and select Later)

   

4. Create a Converted Lead conversion. If you cannot find Converted lead, click on “See all”.

   

5. Add a new conversion action.

6. Click on Settings of the new conversion action:

   • Set it as a Primary or Secondary conversion depending on your preferences (this can be changed later).

   • Give it a concise name, e.g., Converted Lead - Octanist

     This name must match exactly with the conversion action name in Octanist.

   • The other settings can be left as is.

   

7. Once done, save your settings and continue the setup until you reach the final confirmation screen, as shown below.

   

8. Click Finish. In the next steps, we’ll configure the Data Source (Uploads) that sends your conversions from Octanist to Google Ads.

Configuring Uploads

1. Go back to Goals > Uploads.
2. Open the Schedules tab and add a new schedule:
   • Choose HTTPS as the source.
   • Enter the link provided by Octanist in the Source URL field.
   • Set Frequency to Every 24 hours.
     (Daily synchronization is not always necessary, unless leads convert within 24 hours.)
   • Choose a preferred time, e.g., 0:00.
3. Save the schedule.

Important

Google Ads will now begin retrieving converted leads.

If you encounter an error, it may be because no converted leads are currently available in Octanist. This issue will resolve itself with the next upload.

You have now successfully created a connection between Octanist and Google Ads.
